Our Senior Bike Mechanic possesses an expert-level understanding of the Mountain Biking world, including Downhill (DH) and Cross-Country (XC) bikes. They are highly skilled in diagnosing, building, and repairing mountain bikes with a focus on precision and efficiency. Senior Bike Mechanics excel in installing and adjusting brakes, suspension systems, and other critical components to meet the highest safety and performance standards. In addition to technical expertise, the ability to mentor junior mechanics and maintain a team-oriented environment is essential. A commitment to delivering top-tier service and ensuring guest satisfaction is the cornerstone of this role.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform advanced diagnostics, builds, and repairs for a wide range of mountain bikes, including DH and XC models.
  • Expert installation, tuning, and adjustment of brakes and suspension systems for optimal performance and safety.
  • Oversee the maintenance and safety checks of the rental fleet to ensure all bikes meet operational standards for guest use.
  • Assist with daily operations in the rental shop, including bike rentals, fittings, and customer service.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior mechanics, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment.
  • Adhere to and promote all safety procedures outlined by safety and risk management protocols.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of related equipment, including protective gear and bike accessories.

Experience/Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (technical certifications preferred).
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional bike mechanic experience, with a focus on DH and XC bikes.
  • Expertise in advanced bike repair techniques and familiarity with modern components, tools, and technology.
  • Strong leadership skills with a genuine passion for mentoring and collaborating with a team.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a genuine enjoyment of guest interaction.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
  • A proactive approach to maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient workshop environment
