Job description:
The structural designer will produce various design related to mechanical equipment and services. The designs are for systems and its components as follow:
- Design of anchorage (gravity and thermal loads) for vertical and horizontal mechanical system.
- Design of Seismic restraint system for electrical equipment and services
- Design of Seismic restraint system for mechanical equipment and services
- Design of structural support for mechanical equipment and services
- Design of structural support for electrical equipment and services
Responsibilities:
- Planning, design, execution, and completion of various structural designs
- Field review of the various structural designs for certification
- Coordinate with other departments on multi-disciplinary projects to ensure the projects are moving forward as planned.
- Maintain regular communications with team members to ensure necessary and appropriate steps are taken to resolve difficulties.
- Build strong relationships with our clients and contributing to the continued growth and success of the company.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Degree/diploma in engineering with a Structural Engineering focus or relevant experience/education
- Bilingualism (French/English) will be considered an asset
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Fusion
- Strong understanding and working knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards, Ontario Building Code, Handbook of Steel Construction and Concrete Design Handbook
- Exhibit excellent organizational and teamwork skills
- Excellent written and verbal and skills are necessary to effectively convey goals and intent to team members.
- Must have valid driver’s license in good standing in order to visit construction site.
