WHAT WILL YOU DO
The Director, Infrastructure is responsible for overseeing the strategic, operational, and financial performance of Terminal Construction, Civil Construction and Engineering projects at the Calgary and Springbank Airports. This role involves developing and implementing business strategies, leading a high-performing team, and ensuring the division meets its goals and objectives. The Director will work closely with senior management and other divisions to drive growth and efficiency.

You'll be joining a collaborative and experienced team of professionals dedicated to the development of critical airport infrastructure. The team brings together expertise in construction, engineering, and project management, working closely with senior leadership and other divisions to deliver impactful projects that shape the future of Calgary and Springbank Airports.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides leadership in all matters pertaining to Terminal Construction, Civil Construction and Engineering teams and related construction projects at the Calgary Airport and Springbank Airport.
- Participates in the development of capital requirements for the annual program and long-term development programs within the framework of the Airport Master Plan and 10 Year Capital Plan, by providing guidance, overview and cost forecasting in collaboration with the General Manager, Planning Services.
- Directs the Project Management group in the delivery of the annual capital plan of assigned projects. Provides sound business and project management in the area of project delivery with focus on timeliness, end product quality, and financial accountability.
- Participates in the development of the Calgary Airport Master Plan, 10 Year Capital Plan, Airport Land Development Plan, Springbank Airport Master Plan and other related medium/long range airport plans and studies.
- Participates in the annual airport tenant development program by providing engineering overview and direct guidance of land and infrastructure utilization.
- Maintains the highest level of awareness of, and compliance with, corporate policies and procedures, airport safety, airport security, workplace safety, and environmental stewardship.
- Consults with airport stakeholders, end users and partners during the planning, design and implementation of airport projects.
- Consults with professional associations, industry representatives, various levels of government and various regulatory bodies on matters pertaining to airport development and related business.
- Leads and participates in research related to engineering innovation as it relates to airport facilities and civil infrastructure.
- Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Establish and maintain divisional policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and manage the divisional budget.
- Monitor financial performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Lead, mentor, coach and develop a high-performing team.
- Set performance goals, provide ongoing feedback, conduct regular evaluations and address performance needs within the Division.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING
- The ability to obtain and maintain a RAIC (RAIC Program and Application Information)
- Post-secondary diploma in an engineering or construction related discipline.
- P.Eng, PL. Eng, PMP or P.Tech certification.
- Minimum of 15 years’ progressive experience in engineering, project management or construction.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a strategic leadership role.
- Strong experience in project management, including PM methodology, financial budgeting & forecasting, contracting, documentation, communication and other day to day project management activities.
- Strong leadership skills demonstrated through previous supervisory and people management experience.
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills to deal with a wide variety of stakeholders.
- Business-oriented mindset with strong judgment and strategic thinking.
- Ability to work and manage under pressure and respond to critical and/or changing priorities throughout the day.
- Financial acumen and budget management expertise.
- Ability to demonstrate tactfulness, collaborative nature, and professionalism.
- Strategic Management skills including planning, financial analysis, and risk analysis.
- Ability to successfully deliver multiple, high dollar value, projects/initiatives with competing priorities.
- Experience with projects that have $100M+ budgets.
- Must be able to meet and maintain the requirements of a Safety Sensitive position, this includes pre-employment medical assessment and Drug & Alcohol testing.
- Must be able to participate on a rotational Airport Emergency Standby Roster Centre (AEOC) on a rotational on-call basis, as well as respond to out of regular business hour emergencies as required.
- Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License or equivalent

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related field, or MBA is preferred.
