WHAT YOU WILL DO
As a student in the Development Services team, you will provide valuable support to the team who are responsible for the coordination and execution of terminal and land-based initiatives at YYC. Under the supervision of the General Manager, Development Services and working closely with the terminal portfolio team, you will assist the team with administrative tasks related to the Construction and Installation Permit (CIP) process, which governs all third-party construction at the airport.
Your focus will be on supporting the terminal project portfolio, helping the team ensure projects comply with airport regulatory and design standards. Your responsibilities will include assisting with day-to-day tasks related to partner projects, supporting research on standard design practices, updating Development Services documentation as it relates to design, preparing benchmarking assessments in the realm of design, and contributing to the success of the team by providing administrative support. While your primary focus will be on terminal projects and working with the terminal team, you may also assist with tasks related to land project initiatives as needed. This could include reviewing City of Calgary development projects in the vicinity of the Airport, maintaining the Teams SharePoint Hub site, and assisting with KPI reporting through PowerBi.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Work in collaboration with Development Coordinators on terminal building specific projects and assist the land portfolio as required.
- Assist in review, benchmarking and redesign of design-based documentation such as the Terminal Thematic Plan and Terminal Technical Standards.
- Assist in gathering data to benchmark Design Criteria and update documentation as required to align with peers and other Subject Matter Experts at YYC.
- Review and update documents including standards, manuals, flowcharts, guides, and project tracking records for our third-party project construction processes.
- Work with Development Services team to identify and collect data on third-party projects.
- Work with internal stakeholders (e.g. YYC’s Commercial, Mechanical, Electrical, and IT teams), for data collection and process improvements.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of departmental documentation.
- Provide administrative support and other duties as required, including maintaining the Development Services teams SharePoint Hub site and assisting with KPI’s using tools such as PowerBi.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Highly enthusiastic individual that can take the initiative and effectively collaborate with multiple partners.
- Pursuing a diploma or degree in Architecture, Design, Construction Management, Project Management or Planning.
- General understanding of architectural or interior design drawing review.
- Ability to ensure high quality results and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite applications such as Adobe Acrobat Pro, Illustrator and Photoshop is an asset.
- Ability to work effectively with a team as well as individually.
- Strong organizational skills as well as excellent written communication skills.
WHAT ELSE?
- To qualify as a co-op or internship student, you must be enrolled in a post-secondary program where a work term is a formal requirement of the program and provide documentation to that effect.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a restricted area identification card (RAIC).
- This role is eligible for our hybrid work model with a combination of onsite and remote work.
