WHAT YOU WILL DO

The G7 Project Coordinator within Safety, Security, Compliance, and Emergency Response will play a key role in supporting the planning and operational readiness for the G7 summit, both within the terminal and on the airside. The primary focus will be to ensure seamless operations and minimal impact to airport activities during the event. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in airport operations, project management, and government relations, with the ability to navigate a complex, high-stakes environment. Working closely with internal departments, security teams, government agencies, and various stakeholders, the coordinator will ensure the successful execution of all airport-related preparations for the G7 summit.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Coordinate the planning, execution, and monitoring of all airport-related projects tied to the G7 summit, including infrastructure improvements, security enhancements, transportation logistics, and event-specific requirements.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets; ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, government agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and timely delivery of objectives.
  • Ensure that all project activities are documented and recorded in accordance with airport standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges related to airport operations and infrastructure, and proactively develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain a contingency plan for unforeseen disruptions, including transportation delays, security breaches, or any other potential issues.
  • Maintain clear communication with all relevant departments to ensure smooth operations during project or event execution.
  • Coordinate the planning and management of special logistics, including VIP transportation, FBO’s, customs and immigration processes for international delegations, and coordination with airlines.
  • Ensure the airport is adequately prepared to handle an influx of high-profile passengers, with a focus on operational efficiency and passenger experience.
  • Work closely with the airport security team and law enforcement agencies, to ensure that all airport operations adhere to the security protocols required for high-level international events.
  • Work closely with the IOC, Airside Operations, and other departments to align project and event activities with overall airport objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and operational standards for airport infrastructure, security, and customs procedures during the summit.
  • Maintain detailed project documentation, including timelines, budgets, and correspondence, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Prepare regular progress reports highlighting successes, challenges, and next steps.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project coordination.
  • Experience in coordinating multiple projects simultaneously, with a focus on minimizing operational disruptions.
  • A bachelor’s degree in project management, Business Administration, Engineering, Aviation Management, or a related field is preferred, however, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Demonstrated experience working with contractors, vendors, and various stakeholders in a complex operational environment.
  • Strong understanding of airport operations, particularly within terminal and airside environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in managing complex, cross-functional projects.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project, Excel, or equivalent.
  • Must be able to obtain an Airport Vehicle Operator Permit (AVOP).
  • This position is deemed safety sensitive and requires successful completion of a medical assessment, drug & alcohol test, and clean driver’s abstract with less than 8 total demerits.
