WHAT YOU WILL DO

Our HR Systems Specialist is the ‘glue’ that holds us together and takes ownership to ensure our whole team is supported with positivity and professionalism. While you will be the subject matter expert for our HCM system, Ceridian Dayforce, you will also be a coordinator in a number of ways. Our ideal team member will demonstrate a standard of excellence, embrace challenges and proactively anticipate needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Work in collaboration with the HR Operations Coordinator to update and maintain employee data in HCMS. Responsible for all employee lifecycle transactions within the system
  • Update and audit HCM system, ensuring data accuracy, quality, and integrity; ensure that the system is the single source of HR truth
  • Maintain system master data structure, including organization structure, jobs and jobs assignments, job profiles, pay structures, and schedules
  • Provide solutions to enhance end user experiences, building efficiencies and improve processes for the People team
  • Design, create, generate, and maintain a variety of metrics, reports, HR analytics, and queries, including reports for Executive Leadership, utilizing appropriate tools, and performing specialized analyses of employee data as needed
  • Work with the IT team, external vendors, and internal stakeholders, assisting in testing business processes, system changes, upgrades, patches, new interfaces, file feeds, etc., documenting processes and results. 
  • Maintain oversight to HCMS security setup, in consultation with IT, and provide access in accordance to established visibility rules, safeguarding system security and data privacy.
  • Troubleshoot and rectify HRIS issues, escalating to IT or external vendor as needed
  • Continuously identity and explore system abilities and make recommendations accordingly
  • Partner closely with Business Partnerships, and Talent Programs by providing data analysis, offering insights, and identifying trends that support strategic planning and decision making in the business
  • Act as project lead for the implementation of new HRIS system modules and/or major updates of existing modules
  • Maintains an understanding of processes and systems that utilize HR data, reviewing these with a focus on streamlining and ensuring consistent workflows
  • Provide technical support for the bi-weekly payroll processing, year-end activities, and ongoing business requirements 
  • Provide support in the coordination and processing of all pre-hire and new hire requirements as needed
  • Participate in a variety of projects related to the HR systems and business processes associated to each

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 3+ years administration experience with Ceridian Dayforce. Previous implementation or system configuration is an asset
  • The ability to use logic and reasoning to analyze data, information, etc., identifying insights, developing conclusions, and questioning when results don’t look right. 
  • Understanding of relevant legislation such as the Canada Labour Code, the Canadian Human Rights Act, Occupational Health and Safety, and the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA)
  • Confidence and ability to work independently and to think on your feet to resolve issues and work through situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Flexible and team-focused attitude with a willingness to step up and get the job done.
  • Excellent computer skills with expert proficiency with MS Office
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to maintain solid working relationships.

WHAT ELSE

  • Previous payroll administration is an asset but not required
