Director, Marketing, Market Development
About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic, experienced Director, Marketing, Market Development to join our growing Commercial team. As part of a team of sophisticated, passionate and collaborative marketers, this individual will play a crucial role in preparing the market for and delivering the successful launch of an innovative, high-potential new therapy in the multi-billion-dollar epilepsy category. More specifically, they will lead market development and professional engagement strategy and execution (HCP) for azetukalner in epilepsy. This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity for an experienced marketer seeking to join a high performing team committed to making a difference for patients.
This position reports to the Vice President, Marketing and will be based in Boston, MA, USA. We will consider other jurisdictions for exceptional candidates.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Build market development strategy in collaboration with cross-functional partners including Medical Affairs and Corporate Affairs, entailing developing and prioritizing educational narratives and campaigns
• Build successful multi-channel market development content, messaging and tactics in partnership with Medical Affairs, Corporate Affairs and agency partners
• Build and execute professional engagement strategy (HCP) spanning pre-launch, launch and post-launch timeframes to build a foundation of strong provider relationships and perceptions in support of successful azetukalner launch
• Lead planning and execution of Advisory Boards with key HCP stakeholders to solicit critical advice to inform commercial strategy and tactical decisions
• Lead the mapping and profiling of epilepsy prescribers in partnership with Medical Affairs, Customer Engagement and Commercial Business Analytics
• Build market sizing/segmentation, target patient profiles and other strategic analytics in partnership with Commercial Business Analytics to inform key growth opportunities, targeting, engagement planning and message development
• Partner with Medical Affairs and Commercial field teams to support provider engagement, field insights and market development execution
• Plan and execute successful presence at key congresses in partnership with Brand Marketing and Medical Affairs
• Establish and manage innovative provider peer-to-peer programs including speaker bureau
• Develop and manage program budgets and develop metrics to ensure success of the programs
• Guide the development of customer insights and relationship management tools
• Lead the brand planning process and annual operating plan process and support development of the annual brand plan
• Act in accordance with Company policies, including, for example, the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics
• Periodic US travel required; some international travel may also be required
• Other duties may be assigned from time to time aligned with key business priorities
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced science degree and/or MBA preferred
• 10+ years’ experience in the biopharmaceutical industry; with significant experience in US HCP marketing, engagement and communications
US product launch and epilepsy/neurology experience highly preferred
• Must be able to operate in a fast-paced organization, with high expectations and accountability on quality of deliverables
• Highly curious and analytical mind, with strong ability to synthesize, glean insight and propose direction from market and scientific data; demonstrated ability to build successful and innovative strategy
• Well-developed ability to synthesize complex or copious information into the critical few takeaways, or important messages
• Demonstrated passion for engaging healthcare providers and improving patients’ lives
• Proven ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally to drive business results in a heavily matrixed, fast-paced environment; demonstrated success in partnering with key cross-functional partners, including Medical Affairs, Sales, Compliance, and Promotional Regulatory Affairs organizations
• Outstanding project and budget management skills and experience managing multiple vendors, marketing partners and agency partners
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, written and presentation skills
The base salary range for this role is $225,800 to $245,100 USD; we will consider above this range for exceptional candidates. Base salary is determined by a combination of factors including, but not limited to, education and other qualifications, years of relevant experience, and internal equity.
