Job Purpose:

 

In this role, you’ll be instrumental in supporting our internal and executive communications strategies both internally and externally through written communications, social media, events, presentations and other key initiatives, helping our employees, donors and stakeholders feel inspired and purposeful in making a lasting impact in the lives of the world’s most vulnerable children.

The Specialist, Internal and Executive Communications, reports to the Manager, Internal and Executive Communications and works closely with the Senior Advisor to the President, team members of the Executive Office and with key teams across the organization, including People and Culture (P&C) and Events.

 


Responsibilities:

 

  • Support World Vision Canada’s integrated, innovative and interactive employee communications strategy, in alignment with key organizational objectives so employees feel informed, energized and inspired as they support our mission.
  • Create original content for various platforms and audiences including My Hub (our Sharepoint intranet), newsletters, leadership communications, all employee meetings and presentations.
  • Own the integrated internal communications and Executive Office communications calendar.
  • Identify, create, and curate stories, and schedule content and updates to ensure that employees stay informed and engaged in alignment with key actions, moments and initiatives.
  • Recommend, develop and curate creative visuals to enhance stories and messages using video, imagery, photos and creative content to share our brand and story internally and externally on internal and external channels, including executive social media.
  • Foster brand advocacy by sharing employee stories in creative ways, celebrating awards, milestones and recognitions and enable employees to be the voice of the brand.
  • Support the coordination of key employee-facing events such as our organization’s All-Hands employee meetings.
  • Lead and develop presentations, special projects, collateral, background materials and other all-staff communications that support World Vision Canada’s objectives.
  • Partner with our People & Culture team to support key initiatives and a regular employee newsletter with key updates and announcements regarding employee programs and benefits.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Experience in internal communications and/or strategic communications.  
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma with a Communications focus.
  • 5-7 years experience developing messaging and content for target audiences.
  • Proven ability to work well both independently and collaboratively in a creative and fast-paced team.
  • Thorough understanding of communication practices and principles.
  • Ability to write in a range of voices for various audiences and media including online, presentations, interactive events.
  • Takes initiative, proactively supports team goals and manage project plans and timelines with excellence.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to set, clearly assess and evaluate content performance and metrics to apply learnings.
  • High commitment to confidentiality.
  • Exceptional time-management and organizational skills.
  • Graphic design, video and video-editing skills a plus.
  • Social media metrics/benchmark setting and analytics a plus.
  • Knowledge of the humanitarian aid sector a plus.
