As Project Manager, Wireline Operations, you will be responsible for a range of duties related to the general oversight of project execution and customer relations for Fiber Projects across Alberta. The PM’s duties include maintaining client relationships, securing projects, working with clients to identify and address their needs, communicating client needs to the site, and ensuring the needs are addressed effectively. This position demands a deep understanding of the organization's mission and a proactive commitment to advancing it. Job Duties
- Oversee project initiation, progress, and completion.
- Understand and implement contract requirements.
- Hire, train, and maintain employees to perform the required projects
- Coach, mentor, and engage with all employees
- Prepare project quotes and estimates, utilizing high-level and generalized guidelines for project pricing.
- Negotiate quotes and other terms with clients and subcontractors.
- Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, cash flow, site logistics, and other key aspects.
- Oversee billing and invoicing processes to ensure timely submissions and efficient turnaround.
- Provide timely and practical solutions to problems.
- Accurately communicate client needs to the team.
- Proactively work with clients to prevent problems, answer questions, and develop relationships.
- Understand and implement WesTower’s Health and Safety guidelines, including conducting site orientations, participating in audits, and developing crisis management plans.
- Prepare technical documents, including risk registries, monthly reports, and IPR, among others.
- Chair meetings and conduct presentations to leadership, clients, and teams.
- Plan and execute meetings among teams, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Analyze existing procedures and identify improvements that will positively impact productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Be a safety leader and champion for rolling out new safety processes, tools, and set a great example of a positive safety culture.
- Ensure and promote a safe working environment for all employees.
- Identify and pursue new and existing clients’ projects.
Requirements
- Experience in telecommunications and established customer contacts.
- Underground Utility experience and customer base contacts.
- High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
- Technical Diploma or Degree (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the telecommunications construction industry.
- Wireline Aerial and Underground Telecommunications Construction Knowledge
- Understanding of Horizontal Directional Drilling, Aerial Line work, and Fiber splicing
- Capability to read drawings/maps and complete take-offs as required
- Ability to set priorities and avoid crisis management.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms.
- Ability to work effectively and prioritize.
- Ability to remain calm and poised in urgent situations.
- Ability to plan strategically and organize effectively in both the short and long term.
- Experience with change management and conflict resolution.
- Demonstrated competence in communication, professionalism, organization, analysis, and technical skills, as well as knowledge in the performance of duties and responsibilities.
