PROFILE SUMMARY

 

Wesgroup is poised for substantial growth over the next several years and in preparation for this exciting and challenging phase, we are actively seeking a highly engaged, driven and experienced Finishing Coordinator to join our team to cover a leave.

 

As the Finishing Coordinator, you will work closely with the Construction team and trades during the finishing stages of the project. You will help ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget, while also ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

 

You are a self-motivated and detail-orientated individual with a strong initiative to take on a wide variety of tasks. You also possess the ability to effectively communicate with various individuals and have proven capabilities in multi-tasking, problem solving and prioritizing workloads.

 

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  • Complete deficiency walkthroughs of all units in our projects located in Vancouver. This role is essential in preparing all deficiency checklists in order to present to finishing trades to complete.
  • Provide direction to labourers and skilled trades’ people, inspect their work, and ensure they are completing tasks to a high-quality standard.
  • Identify and escalate potential issues to the Construction Manager in a timely manner
  • Monitor the performance of trades to ensure deficiencies are completed in a timely manner before proceeding.
  • Report to the Site Superintendent on a daily basis to ensure schedule and quality are being met.
  • Prepare the deficiency report of each unit and update the management weekly.
  • Attend daily morning meetings and provide input for trades.
  • Provide progress updates to the Site Superintendent on a regular basis.
  • Ensure all staff and contractors maintain a safe working environment according to company policies.
  • Monitor and track schedules prepared by the Site Superintendent to achieve the set timeline.

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

 

  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, completing quality control on residential projects.
  • A diploma or degree (or equivalent) is preferred, as well as related field experience.
  • Considerable knowledge of residential wood-frame/concrete high-rise construction is an asset.
  • An eye for detail and a desire to achieve high standards of completion
  • Excellent communication skills in English both written and oral.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills in order to prioritize work load and stay on top of things as the project demands increase.
  • Self-motivated with strong willingness and ability to learn and be challenged.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including conflict resolution abilities.
  • Works effectively in a team environment.
  • Hard working and a problem solver.
  • Experience using MS Office

 

EXPECTED COMPENSATION

 

  • Annual Base Salary: The expected salary range for this role is $65,000 - $75,000 per annum.  Actual offered salary will depend on individual experience, qualifications, geographic location, market conditions for the role, and internal equity.
