PROFILE SUMMARY

 

Wesgroup is poised for substantial growth over the next several years and in preparation for this exciting and challenging phase, we are actively seeking a highly motivated, driven and experienced Finance Analyst to join our team. 

 

You will report to the Vice President, Finance and work with all the functional lines of the business in managing the borrowing relationships of Wesgroup.

 

The essence of this opportunity is for a forward-thinking financial professional to join a well-established and thriving real estate business and add value through the efficient management of capital and borrowing structures. The mandate has the following objectives:

  • Prepare Support Materials for Financing Applications
  • Build Relationships with Industry Professionals and Lenders
  • Support the Managers in Developing Innovative Debt Structures to Enhance Efficiency
  • Provide Insightful Reporting to Lenders and Stakeholders

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  • Prepare financing applications:
    • For term loans, on maturing IPP assets and new builds on completion
    • For construction loans, in time for construction start on build to suit and residential properties
    • For acquisitions, on an ad hoc and often tight time frame to close on new purchases.
  • Understand and review commitment letters for compliance with corporate structure, including understanding and preparing corporate org charts.
  • Track, obtain and deliver conditions precedents to the lenders. Familiarity with appraisal reports, environmental reports and draw reports is preferred.
  • Liaise with internal groups for up-to-date information on projects/assets (Development, Construction, Sales, Sustainability and Asset Management).
  • Liaise with Treasury and Accounting staff on arranging first draws, account openings and other critical path items to funding.
  • Focus on lowering Wesgroup’s cost of debt and streamlining processes.
  • Leverage digital tools and foster collaboration between departments.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Track and manage obligation under commitment letters for reporting requirements.
    • Provide lenders with required financial reporting within the required period
    • Assist in the preparation of the annual report
    • Deliver management prepared and 3rd party prepared reports in time with the reporting conditions of the lenders
    • Review management prepared reports for errors and continuity with previously provided reports.
  • Manage ad hoc tasks as assigned by the Vice President, Finance.

 

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

 

  • A University degree in Real Estate, Commerce, Finance, Accounting or equivalent.
  • A CPA or CFA designation is considered an asset.
  • 3+ years of progressive real estate finance experience within fast-paced business environments.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong co-ordination skills and have an understanding of real estate and current market conditions.
  • Strong understanding of real estate development through experience and education.
  • Possesses a curious mindset and continuously engages and innovates to achieve great results.
  • Internally motivated to seek out answers, generate ideas, and develop new skills.
  • Excellent collaboration, verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

 

 

EXPECTED COMPENSATION

 

  • Annual Base Salary: The expected salary range for this role is $70,000 - $85,000 per annum.  Actual offered salary will depend on individual experience, qualifications, geographic location, market conditions for the role, and internal equity.
  • Annual Bonus Program: Wesgroup offers a competitive Annual Bonus Program that is intended to financially reward eligible employees for their contribution to the Company’s financial and overall success.
