Associate Project Manager - Construction

PROFILE SUMMARY
Wesgroup is poised for substantial growth over the next several years and in preparation for this exciting and challenging phase, we are actively seeking a highly engaged, driven and experienced Associate Project Manager to join our team.
As the Associate Project Manager, you are responsible for overseeing a project and effectively managing site activities. You’ll possess the knowledge, experience and confidence to engage and professionally interact with the design professionals and consultants while successfully directing the sub-contractors and other construction related personnel. Planning, coordinating and safely executing the work in accordance with the construction documents, schedule and budget are critical.
This position will report to the Director, Construction and support a Project manager.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Work with the Project Management team, and internal and external stakeholders through conceptual project design to clearly define project requirements and confirm technical, financial, and regulatory feasibility.
- Assist with developing and managing project budget, schedule, quality, and sustainability standards.
- Contract and oversee the work of external professional service providers. Plan and oversee the detailed design process and the preparation of tender documents. Develop appropriate procurement options, manage the tender process, and contract award.
- Monitor and control construction of the project to ensure that the project is built in compliance, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards. Control and monitor labor, material, equipment and site expenses.
- Prepare detailed project handover and inspection programs to ensure streamlined delivery of the project to the clients.
- Support the post construction audit and re-tooling processes for upcoming projects. Administer post construction warranty, building audits and customer service.
- Maintain and improve business and community relationships.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience with a Develop builder, general contractor or developer.
- Experience with multi-family high-rise projects
- Knowledge and understanding of B.C. building code and regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Autodesk.
- A thorough understanding of all aspects of design and construction.
- A proven track record of successfully delivering projects.
- A dynamic and highly effective leader who is open and approachable.
- Demonstrated planning and project management skills.
- Effective communication, and interpersonal skills.
- High level of personal and professional integrity.
- Fundamental business experience including strategizing, budgeting, allocating resources and contingency planning.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Thorough knowledge of construction processes, procurement and practices as applied to planning, design, construction and maintenance of buildings and associated infrastructure.
EXPECTED COMPENSATION
- Annual Base Salary: The expected salary range for this role is $110,000 - $145,000 per annum. Actual offered salary will depend on individual experience, qualifications, geographic location, market conditions for the role, and internal equity.
