Responsibilities & Duties
· Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures.
· Prepare animals for surgery by shaving and disinfecting surgical sites.
· Monitor anesthesia and vital signs during surgery.
· Maintain sterile surgical instruments and environments.
· Provide post-operative care and monitor recovery of surgical patients.
· Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
· Educate pet owners about post-surgical care and recovery.
· Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
· Sterilize and organize surgical equipment and instruments.
· Assist in the development and implementation of surgical protocols.
· Ensure compliance with veterinary regulations and standards.
Qualifications & Skills
· Experience in a veterinary surgical setting.
· Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT).
· Proficiency in surgical instrument handling and care.
· Proficiency in taking dental radiographs
· Strong understanding of anesthesia monitoring and administration.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
· Advanced training or coursework in veterinary surgery.
