THE ROLE
We are seeking a motivated individual with diverse hands-on and academic experience and a proven background connecting data to business outcomes.
Reporting directly to the Director, Technology Enablement, the Senior Data Conversion Specialist will partner with Data & Technology (D&T) leaders and business teams in the data conversion of UPP data migration into our Pension Administration System.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
The Sr. Data Conversion Specialist will be responsible for a variety of duties, including but not limited to the following:
- Participates in Implementation/ Discovery Meetings with data conversion vendors and third-party agencies to structure project plans and processes
- Review and validate the Planning, Implementation, and Post-implementation project phases for data conversion activities
- Extracts volumetric information to track progress across Data Engineering delivery teams
- Performs access control testing to verify Role-based access control
- Review and validate the “Data Migration Strategy Document” and address gaps and issues with the data conversion vendors
- Reviews the gathered requirements and participates in the migration script review sessions, and technical reviews for accuracy, efficiency, and repeatability
- Reviews and validates the results of the Data Profiling activities, from script review for repeatable processes to profile outputs
- Reviews and validates requirement specifications and support documentation
- Support the technical design and architecture design decisions
- Collaborate with Business and D&T to define deliverables and develop data conversion solutions that are re-useable across the organization
- Review and analyze the data exception reporting issues and ensure they are actioned appropriately
- Participate, review, and analyze Functional and System integration testing and defect resolution
- Collaborate as the UPP data subject matter expert with the data conversion vendor, PAS vendor and SMEs (Subject matter experts) in identifying and performing root cause analysis
- Ensure data protection, privacy and information security policies are adhered to and managed accordingly across the data conversion processes
- Develop Framework for Pension Data Validation
- Develop templates, foundational data model and data mapping rules from legacy systems to target systems
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Post-secondary degree or equivalent, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline
- 5-7 years of data and information technology experience
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on Pension data domain experience
- 5-7 years of data conversion, ETL, database development experience
- Proficient with Agile Methodology and usage of Kanban (Gitlab, Jira)
- Experience coordinating with various business units to follow up on tasks and deliverables
- Create test cases on business requirements and perform testing including system/integration testing, functional testing, cross-browser compatibility
- Proven experience managing a Portfolio of Initiatives and Projects, including prioritization, and changes
- Working closely with Solution Architects to document application and technology roadmap
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Exposure, or experience in financial business reporting and statistical modelling
- Strong problem solving and analytical ability
- Ability to adapt to new concepts quickly and efficiently
