Upper Canada Child Care - “A smile on each child’s face…every day.”   

 

We are currently recruiting Registered Early Childhood Educators and Assistant Educators to join our Team in Innisfil at the following location: Lake Simcoe PS.   

 

*This is a new centre opening January 2025, with a possibility of a December 2024 employment start date. 

 

Starting Pay: 

 

RECE: $25.06 - $28.64/hour plus Wage Enhancement Grant ($2.00/hr) & Canada Wide Early Learning & Child Care (up to $1.00/hr for RECEs where applicable)

Assistant: $19.61 - $22.41/hour plus Wage Enhancement Grant ($2.00/hr).

 

 

Position Type & Required Availability:

 

  • Full-Time Full Day Position (30-40 hours/week): Candidates must be available to work a 6 or 8-hour shift Monday-Friday in our infant, toddler or preschool program to be considered.

QUALITIFCATIONS

 

  • Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education  from a recognized college or university (for ECE position).
  • A recent Police Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • At least 18 years of age or older due to licensing requirements.
  • Health assessment and up-to-date record of immunization as outlined by legislation.
  • Up-to-date registration with the College of ECEs (if applicable).
  • Up-to-date certification in CPR-C and Standard First Aid (training provided upon selection if required).
  • Experience with inquiry/play based program design and implementation, and with the use of pedagogical documentation.
  • Uses initiative; applies sound reason in solving problems and resolves conflict in a calm, professional manner.
  • Proven ability to communicate (written and verbal) effectively and establish appropriate relationships with families, coworkers and other professionals.
  • Have the physical and emotional stamina to effectively supervise children in a variety of settings including outdoor public spaces.
  • Ability to use computer systems and programs; including Dayforce, and Storypark.

 


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Engages with the children and provides a positive learning experience. Provides a range of care including assisting with meals/snacks, toileting, diapering, dressing, etc.
  • Participates in professional development opportunities, staff meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Completes program charts, daily logs, reports, and other administration tasks as required.
  • Fosters the engagement of and ongoing communication with parents about the program and their children. Attends parent and community meetings as needed.
  • Uses Storypark for pedagogical documentation as a guide for program development.
  • Effectively collaborates and communicates with other team members, school personnel, and outside agencies to help support the needs of all children.
  • Identifies children in need of additional support. Guides parents through the process of accessing resources. Helps design and implement individual support plans as required.
