ACTUARIAL ANALYST / SENIOR ACTUARIAL ANALYST – CORPORATE ACTUARIAL
We are a fast-growing commercial property and casualty insurance company with operations in Canada and the United States. Our business focuses on commercial lines with a smaller personal lines portfolio. Some of our key products include liability, property, surety, and warranty. This is an exciting opportunity to join the small and growing corporate actuarial department.
This role supports the Head of Corporate Actuarial and plays a key part in reserving and financial reporting activities. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to critical financial processes while working on diverse lines of business.
Accountabilities Include:
- Conduct reserving analyses across multiple lines of business
- Assist with quarterly and annual financial reporting
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (underwriting, finance, claims, actuarial pricing) to provide insights into business performance and trends
- Support the Financial Condition Testing (FCT) and Own Risk and Solvency Assessment Processes
- Support Finance in the maintenance of the financial forecast models
- Develop and maintain actuarial models to enhance reserving processes
- Identify and implement process improvements and best practices within the corporate actuarial function
- Assist in performing other pricing, reserving, data analytics, or predictive modeling analyses as needed
Qualifications:
- Actively working towards an ACAS or FCAS designation
- 2 to 7+ years of relevant work experience
- Experience in property and casualty reserving is an asset
- Experience with Arius reserving software is an asset
- Experience in financial reporting, including IFRS17, is an asset
