We are currently seeking a qualified individual to join the dedicated, forward-thinking Risk Solutions team in our downtown Toronto office.
UNDERWRITING SUPPORT SPECIALIST, RISK SOLUTIONS – TORONTO
As part of the Risk Solutions team, the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for processing and reconciling premium production reports, claims reports, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
What does our Risk Solutions Department do?
Our Risk Solutions Department responds to unique exposures by offering innovative, customized insurance products specifically designed to meet the needs, requirements and challenges faced by our clients.
Our clients fall into two broad categories:
- Companies who offer warranties and administer warranty programs;
- Associations and groups seeking solutions for their members’ unique insurance needs.
As an integral member of the team, you will bring:
- Good knowledge of basic accounting concepts
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Efficiency working as a part of a team, or independently, as required
- Proven organizational skills, and strong time-management abilities
- Strong attention to detail in all areas of work
- High level of personal integrity, strong work ethic and initiative
Accountabilities:
- Ensure timely processing of premium and claims reports
- Prepare invoices based on monthly production files
- Reconcile current accounts due to Trisura and broker statements
- Respond to customer inquiries via email and telephone
- Analysis and monitoring of warranty program performance and exposures
- Work effectively and efficiently with team members to resolve issues
Qualifications:
- 2+ years cumulative experience in business data or accounting related role
- University Degree or College Diploma in Business; Accounting concentration preferred
- Proficiency in SQL is an asset
- Experience using MS Access or another relational database
- Advanced Proficiency in MS Excel including experience with Pivot Tables, Lookup and Financial functions
