POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Globe and Mail is looking for a contract Marketing Specialist, Events and Courses, to develop, implement and manage integrated marketing campaigns on search, social and other digital platforms to drive leads and registrations for The Globe Leadership Institute courses and Globe and Mail events. This position requires a blend of traditional marketing expertise, including brand management, product positioning and copywriting, along with a wide range of digital marketing skills such as digital advertising, content marketing, and email marketing. The successful candidate will have a high technical proficiency across a wide range of digital platforms, including Google Ads and LinkedIn advertising, along with digital publishing platforms such as Splash or Squarespace. Excellent communication skills are a must, along with the ability to work efficiently, effectively, and collaboratively to achieve targets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Marketing Specialist, Events and Courses, works closely with the consumer marketing, digital product and Globe Events teams to achieve audience targets. The bulk of your time will be spent writing and designing marketing communications for print and digital ads, email outreach campaigns, and organic social media marketing. Over time, you will develop a deep understanding of the courses and products you are marketing, how best to speak to the target audience, and the strategies and tactics that will deliver the desired results. Specifically, you will:
- Collaborate with the Program Director and Sales and Marketing Representative of The Globe Leadership Institute to develop product positioning and a range of marketing communications for The Globe Leadership Institute courses
- Build and maintain assigned course websites and Globe Event sites, ensuring a compelling and accurate consumer offering at all times
- Build and manage digital advertising campaigns, email campaigns, and organic social campaigns for The Globe Leadership Institute courses and assigned Globe Events
- Build, maintain and execute promotional plans, contributing to the topline marketing strategy, with support from the consumer marketing team and the Globe Events team
- Ensure adherence to The Globe’s privacy and CASL policies and uphold The Globe's brand standards and style
QUALIFICATIONS:
- University degree with preference for candidates with a Marketing and/or Journalism degree;
- 5+ years or more managing results-driven marketing campaigns. Experience in managing omnichannel marketing campaigns an asset
- Strong understanding of audience targeting and value proposition to position products and content for success
- Demonstrated experience in attracting and engaging target audiences through paid and owned media on a range of digital platforms such as LinkedIn, Reddit, Meta, and Google
- Proven proficiency in email marketing and the ability to write email messages that drive results
- Proven proficiency in developing content marketing calendars and content marketing assets using tools like Canva
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
