Inspector - Water/Wastewater

We are seeking an Inspector to work on water and wastewater projects out of our Barrie office.
The inspector is responsible for inspection of the construction of the vertical infrastructure such as pump stations (water and sewer), storage reservoirs, yard piping, watermains and sanitary forcemains. The position requirements and duties are listed below:
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site inspection for municipal construction projects, including water and sewer pump stations, storage reservoirs, storm and sanitary sewers, water distribution, and advising of non-compliance
- Monitoring the Contractor’s operations to ensure compliance with contract terms, design specifications, and drawings
- Assist with preparation of tender and contract documents as week as assist with construction progress meetings and minutes
- Review specifications and drawings for the project to ensure familiarity with the works
- Maintain field diaries, records of work completed, materials and equipment on site each day
- Work closely with the Contract Administrator to provide observations, records and data as required for contract administration. Establish the type and frequency of construction supervision to be carried out, and advise the Contractor of stages of construction that must be inspected
- Prepare daily inspection reports for the Contract Administrator’s review
- Evaluate contractor change requests and claims, and assisting with negotiations as required
- Evaluate project “as built” and/or “record” information
Key Position Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant construction inspection experience
- C.E.T. certification or eligibility would be an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated understanding and working knowledge of contract drawings, tender documents and design and construction standards
- Field experience working around heavy equipment
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
