The Opportunity:
The Senior Portfolio Manager, EPO will provide leadership and management for all projects/changes within the assigned COR.IQ Portfolio, resource demand management and people management. The Portfolio complexity is defined as high and will likely have more than one high complexity project assigned or a series of projects that comprise the technology portfolio for assigned clients.
This is a hybrid role with requirements to be on site 3 days a week, providing a balance between remote flexibility and in-person collaboration.
About The Role:
- On an annualized basis, work in conjunction with EPO Management team in delivering investment plan for the organization which aligns with organizational strategic plan and risk appetite. Subsequent to delivery of investment plan, continue working with Client Relations, lines of services and key business stakeholders to continually re-prioritize the same through the fiscal year and beyond for our respective Portfolios (BMO, TD & BNS, RBC & Commercial, Internal & Product).
- Ensure all programs and projects (client facing and internal) across the organization are delivered on time and in budget while maintaining a CSAT score of greater than 4.1/ 5 and an in-year project success rate of >=95%. Track benefits associated with Projects and Programs to ensure benefits identified in business cases for projects in question are tracked and reported.
- On a monthly basis, provide an executive level report to the VP, EPO and Client Relations team (for their Client Reporting Package) on overall health of the investment portfolio along with key programs and projects (Client, Internal and Growth). For projects with risks and issues, highlight actions being taken or recommendations on what needs to be done to address the issues in question.
- Maintain a near real time view of resource plan for our respective Portfolios (BMO-TD-BNS, RBC-Commercial, Internal-Product) highlighting any areas of concerns and managing the variability in demand from month to month leveraging the current view on capacity and allocations.
- In line with Symcor’s core values, lead the monitoring, coaching, development and assignment of employees to provide the optimal resources required to attain the team’s objectives and deliver its mandate.
- Manage budget and spend related to compensation, training, travel, mobile, distortionary spend, for our respective portfolio teams. Ensure deviations from plan are reported with each forecast along with drivers clearly identified.
What You Need to Succeed:
Education:
- University degree or diploma in related field or equivalent work experience
- PMP Designation or equivalent preferred
Experience:
- 7+ years of Project Management experience with demonstrable result
- 10+ years of IT experience in any of the following areas: Development, Support, Testing, Project Management or Maintenance
- Experience in managing Clients and Vendors
- Experience in resource forecasting and management
- Experience leading teams
Skill requirements:
- Demonstrated successful implementation of projects using the principles of the PMBOK/PRINCE2 or equivalent approach to the Project Management
- Solid understanding of the following: Service Now, MS Project, SharePoint repositories, Project Management Methodology (PMM), Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Waterfall and/or Agile development practices
- Demonstrated ability and experience executing Waterfall / Agile / Iterative project methodology and projects in previous roles
- Excellent communication (verbal & written) and presentation skills
- Strategic Planning, Collaboration and Negotiation experience an asset
