The Opportunity


We are looking for a Financial Analyst to join our team! The Financial Analyst should have a knack for analyzing complex financial data, be highly motivated and detail oriented. This role will be responsible for providing
financial expertise and analysis for assigned client groups, under the direction of the Director, LOS and Operations Support, Finance. The ideal candidate must have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

 

This is a hybrid role with requirements to be on site 2 - 3 days a week, providing a balance between remote flexibility and in-person collaboration.

 

About The Role:

 

  • Prepare financial results and forecasts and analyze and interpret financial information
  • Develop and maintain an effective relationship with assigned client groups by providing financial reports and insights in support of their financial goals and needs.
  • Assist with operating planning processes by providing gather assumptions from the respective client groups, modeling out the assumptions, and interpreting the data required and identifying trends for other members of the finance team to use to drive the planning discussion.
  • Support the quarterly forecast cycle and maintain financial models to be used in results reporting, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Contribute to financial reporting activities and analysis to be incorporated into presentations to management
  • Review actual/forecast P&L with respective Stakeholders/Management on a monthly basis.
  • Execute monthly financial tracking processes and metrics to accurately manage P&L, or components of the P&L.
  • Facilitate the Management Review discussions to support financial decisions.
  • Provide meaningful data and insights to support Senior Managers on a variety of projects and initiatives
  • Identify financial process improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time.
  • With full support from their respective client groups, prepare quarterly forecasts using assumptions and models provided by other more senior members of the finance team.
  • Communicate the impact of business decisions by providing reports detailing costs and forecasts to the business unit leaders and management.
  • Report on management of capital, asset management and balance sheets, as required.
  • Prepare timely and accurate monthly management reports and packages, including variance and trends analysis for review by more senior members of the finance team.

 

What You Need To Succeed:

 

Education:

 

  • Completion of College diploma/Undergraduate Degree in accounting, financial management or business administration or other relevant discipline and/or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
  • Planning or working towards a recognized accounting designation such as CPA.

Experience:

 

  • Minimum 2 to 3 years relevant experience.
  • Working towards a recognized accounting designation such as CPA.
  • Experience with computerized financial reporting systems and analytical tools including Oracle, ADI etc.
  • Experience with Corporate Performance Management Systems is an asset.
  • Experience with Activity based Costing is an asset.
  • Must have the ability to organize and prioritize work while meeting stringent deadlines.

 

Skill requirements:

 

  • System skills that include advanced Excel and Access, including creation of macros.
  • Requires excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills and good presentation skills.
