WHAT YOU WILL DO:
You will apply accurate valuation skills and knowledge to determine the replacement cost values of buildings, furnishings, machinery and/or equipment. You will get experience across many sectors such as commercial, municipalities, education, health care industry and heavy industrial. Some days, you will be on the move, conducting site inspections to gather specifics, measurements, and take photographs. Other days, you will be in your home office preparing for site inspections or researching, analyzing and costing. Depending on your experience, you may also assist with project management, quality control review of reports, train and coach others. This is a remote position and requires travel (30-40%) within the region and nationally and may include international travel. Therefore, the successful candidate is to reside in close proximity to a major airport in Western Canada.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- Full proficiency in English (additional language proficiency is an asset);
- Post-secondary education, preferably in construction, structural or mechanical engineering, architecture, cost estimating or another related field;
- An appraisal (ie. ASA), cost estimating or quantity surveyor designation in good standing or working towards a designation is an asset;
- Solid construction knowledge;
- Understanding building design and ability to read blueprints is an asset;
- Experience collecting, analyzing, and/or costing data is an asset;
- Experience with tangible asset costing or valuation models is an asset;
- Eagerness to learn and grow and contribute to the success of others:
- Demonstrated ability to deliver on our Brand Promise;
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office (Excel) and databases;
- Valid passport, unrestricted driver's license, and able to regional, national, and international travel; and
- A combination of education, knowledge and experience will be considered.
