WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

On some days, you will be in your home office preparing for site inspections or costing and analyzing data related to tangible assets. On other days, you will be on the move, conducting site inspections to gather specifics, measurements, and take photographs of tangible assets which could encompass buildings, furnishing, machinery and/or equipment components. You will get experience across many sectors such as mining, forestry and paper products, food, utilities, metal, education, and health care industry. The position requires approximately 30-40% travel within the region and nationally and may include international travel. Therefore, the successful candidate must reside in either Canada or the United States and be in close proximity to a major airport.

 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking proactive individuals who are motivated to deliver on our brand promise and have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, have excellent research, analytical and costing skills, a strong interest in national and international business travel, and the eagerness to learn and grow in the appraisal industry.

 

YOUR CREDENTIALS

  -  Full proficiency in English (additional language proficiency is an asset);

  -  Post-secondary education;

  -  Experience in finance, construction, insurance, auction and liquidation, and engineering are assets;

  -  Appraisal designation is an asset; preference if an American Society of Appraisal (ASA) designation in Machinery & Technical Specialties;

  -  Experience collecting, analyzing and/or costing data is an asset;

  -  Experience conducting site inspections is an asset;

  -  Understanding building design and ability to read blueprints are assets;

  -  Construction knowledge or Industrial process knowledge is an asset;

  -  Experience with tangible asset costing or valuation models (including industrial processes) is an asset; and

  -  A combination of education, knowledge and experience will be considered.
