Inventor Specialist 
Reports directly to the BIM Led on all matters, regarding the assigned and design issue. The Inventor Specialist shall ensure to meet all schedules in a timely manner. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: 


Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Architectural Technology Construction Management or Civil Engineering.

Years of Experience 

  • Minimum 2+ years of CAD Detailing experience using AutoCAD and Inventor. 

Working Conditions 

  • Site visits required having PPE for all site work and in certain other locations;
  • At times requires driving to visit sites; and
  • Flexible to work overtime as required.

Required Level

  • Intermediate level position for incumbents wishing to pursue a career in any area of the Design/Engineering Department;
  • Detail oriented with the ability to read architectural, mechanical, structural and slab edge drawings;
  • Knowledgeable in AutoCAD, Autodesk Invetor & MS Office tools;
  • Experience working with Autodesk Revit & Upchain is an asset;
  • Communication with coworkers daily by telephones, email and in person;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is required;
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload;
  • Demonstrate State’s core values and work in a team environment.

Job Specific Duties 

  • Support BIM Lead and project team in tasks associated with Inventor parts and 2D Drawings;
  • Utilize Autodesk Inventor to develop Inventor Part models and drawings;
  • Utilize AutoCAD to create section/plan details as required;
  • Ability to demonstrate a basic understanding of accurate drafting methods, layering, X-References, dimensioning, model space/paper space, viewports, and scaling;
  • Crate content for new systems and modification to existing systems within the library;
  • Update models to reflect site conditions/As-Built conditions;
  • Assist and support projects in the production of models including creation, management of building information models (BIM) and 2D drawings (if required);
  • Work with ILogic tool of inventor to create panel drawings and associate them with Revit model
  • Create BOM for assemblies built within Inventor for parts;
  • Prepare sketches where required i.e., P.M.P on corner posts, metal cladding, break shape release, fins, features, etc.,;
  • Advise Production Design Manager & Project Manager ahead of time if schedule will not be met;
  • Working closely with Revit Modelers, who are responsible for producing product/project specific information models;
  • Review drawings/models of other teams to ensure the latest information is updated with the parent model;
  • Perform frequent/routine quality checks of Inventor files used in the library;
  • Participating in technical meetings to resolve project related tasks/issues;
  • Work with PLM system to ensure data and workflow process is followed per Company standard; and
  • Any other tasks assigned by the BIM Lead.
