State is looking to hire a Shipping Coordinator for our Curtain Wall department. Apply today if you meet the qualifications.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for the operation of the shipping department. He/she will report directly to the Commercial Production Manager on all matters. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Obtain copies of production schedules/shipping orders and coordinate transportation of material or equipment to and from sites with installers and Field Managers;
  • Schedule and book hoists on sites as required;
  • Maintain Infill Trackers;
  • Update Shipping schedule and send out to internal and external customers on a weekly basis;
  • Update SQDCI Board on daily basis;
  • Responsible to ensure loads are secure before they leave the facility;
  • Examine products before shipment and verify conformance to quality standards;
  • Load and unload goods for trucks as required;
  • Stack goods in the correct storage bays following inventory control instructions;
  • Responsible for the supervision of commercial truck drivers and report any concerns to the Production Manager/Operations Manager;
  • Organize and package hardware and infills for each release and shipment;
  • Generate a packing slip for each shipment and keep a track record;
  • Organize and perform cycle counts to ensure continuous inventory accuracy through routine reconciliation of physical inventories;
  • Assist with the development, implementation and monitoring of inventory controls, policies and procedures; and
  • Assist the Production Manager on daily tasks as required.

 

Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience in a shipping/receiving or coordinating role;
  • Construction Management Diploma, APICS Certification or equivalent work experience is preferred;
  • Forklift license is an asset;
  • Have a high level of social interaction. Work with other production staff, truck drivers, supervisors, Field Managers, installers and Forklift Operators;
  • Must have valid G license;
  • Work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to use variety of tools and equipment;
  • Knowledge of industry safety practices;
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook;
  • Must be able to write and communicate in English clearly and effectively; and 
  • Knowledge of processes and practices of shipping/receiving and supply chain management.

 

Working Conditions

  • Work may involve some exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises;
  • On site work environment involves some exposure to hazards of physical risks that require knowledge of and adherence to basic safety procedures; and
  • Work environment requires having construction safety footwear, safety glasses and hearing protection.
