MAINTENANCE - HANDY PERSON

Handy Person/ Maintenance Aide- FULL TIME

Candidates are invited to apply for the above-mentioned position to work at our Errinrung home, located in Thornbury, ON.

Qualifications:

• Must have mechanical aptitude and be able to read and write the English language.
• Experience in electrical, plumbing, patchwork, painting preferred
• Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures.
• Knowledgeable about WHMIS, OH & S
• High School Diploma
• College level trade certificate is an asset

Responsibilities:

• Follow the home’s Preventive Maintenance Program as well as the Demand Maintenance Program
• Regularly perform the various tasks described in the programs
• Regularly checking completed maintenance logs in each department/home area of the home
• Complete repairs as necessary including not limited to: Painting, wall repair, small leak, install (toilet, sink, tiling, doors, replace light fixtures, install blinds)
• Check the operation of the mechanical equipment
• Inspect Life Safety equipment and systems
• Ensure safe storage of maintenance equipment
• Complete regular maintenance reports
• Complete pre-start up assessments on a new equipment as applicable
• Coordinate annual preventive maintenance checks by contractors; and
• Perform other duties as required
• Must be available for call ins on short notice
• Perform everything pertaining to maintenance including heavy duty related work
