Job purpose

The Journeyman Millwright, industrial mechanic is responsible for the effective functioning of the mechanical, refrigeration, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for the Edmonton North Plant.

Duties and responsibilities

• Accountable for the effective functioning of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems in the plant, and for the effective installation, welding, and fabrication of new equipment.
• Accountable for the general maintenance of the ammonia refrigeration system in the plant.
• Accountable to adhere to and utilize Company policies and procedures and HACCP regulations.
• Accountable to ensure a safe work environment for coworkers, customers and visitors

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Provincial Millwright Journeyman Certificate, or a recognized interprovincial equivalent coupled with a minimum of two years’ experience performing repairs in a manufacturing environment.
• An additional two years of refrigeration mechanic experience required. Must have experience with mechanical systems, welding, fabrication and machining experience, and an ability to use power and manual tools.
• Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
