Position Summary:
Reporting into the Director, Communications, the Manager, Communications is responsible for providing internal and external communications in line with our values to enhance our employer brand and employee experience. You will support the development and implementation of communication strategies to promote and enhance Sofina’s image and reputation and drive employee engagement.
Work Schedule: 4 days in-office, 1 day remote.
Key Accountabilities:
- Ensure our company values and guiding principles are front of mind for all employees through a regular cadence of high-impact communications across channels including:
- Identifying interesting topics and stories that increase understanding and awareness of the organization's priorities and achievements, highlight Sofina’s culture in action, and position Sofina as a great place to work.
- Developing impactful content—including intranet articles, emails, internal social media, newsletters, presentations, speeches, and video scripts—designed around storytelling principles to drive meaningful engagement.
- Ensure content is aligned with the organization's values and brand identity.
- Editorial planning, content development and publishing for Sofina’s employee intranet (SofinaConnect), TV screens in plant, and other communications channels.
- Leading planning and execution of special events including Learning Labs, Town Halls, etc.
- Lead the creation, development, layout, proofreading and production of internal/external publications and presentations.
- Work closely with the wider HR team to produce strong narratives to support employer brand work and employee engagement.
- Oversee the organization's social media presence and develop strategies to enhance engagement.
- Protect and enhance the organization's brand through consistent messaging and branding guidelines.
- Actively participate on cross-functional project teams and proactively bring forward new ideas and insights.
- Lead communications process through the full cycle of research, writing, editing, approvals, translation, and distribution
- Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to internal clients, including senior executives, on sensitive and potentially reputation-damaging issues and crises (internally and externally).
- Create/maintain communication templates, standards and protocols.
- Assist in other projects as required.
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or a related field.
- 6+ years of communications experience (understanding of large corporate settings is an asset).
- Proven experience in communications or public relations, with a focus on strategic planning and responding in a fast-paced business.
- French and English is required.
- Strong understanding of digital communication tools including SharePoint, content management systems, social media platforms, web technology and analytics, basic graphic design and video editing.
- Crisis communication experience is a critical advantage.
- Experience as a People Leader an asset.
