Maintenance Planner - Contract
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Manager Maintenance & Technical Services, the Maintenance Planner provides critical support services to the Maintenance Department. This role will be primarily responsible for developing standardized job plans, managing, optimizing, coordinating and scheduling required resources to execute the plans with minimal disruption to production.
Contract Role: 20 Months
Key Accountabilities:
- Develop and manage maintenance job plan library which includes routine tasks such as Preventive Maintenance, Condition Based Maintenance and Operator Care in the CMMS.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders such as Maintenance/MRO, Operations, Sanitation, Quality Assurance, and Health and Safety to scope (tasks, effort, part/tool requirements, permits) and prioritize planned work.
- Schedule planned work and maintain related documentation. Lead weekly meetings with key stakeholders to develop and communicate maintenance schedules. Maintenance related HACCP/CFIA and MSDS documentation and setup semi-annual and annual inspections.
- Works with the plant management and skilled trades to understand and confirm requirements for supply of maintenance parts and services in accordance with approved plans. Acquires various quotes and negotiates contracts with suppliers and vendors to source the best value on maintenance parts and services. Support the development of Maintenance Equipment Bill of Materials
- Manage CMMS Master Data such as Equipment and Employees Support preparation of Approved Funding Expenditure (AFE) documentation for maintenance projects.
- Provide back-up coverage to the Maintenance Supervisor as required.
- Prepare, communicate and analyze Maintenance KPIs (e.g Schedule Compliance)
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities that support increasing wrench time and drive overall work management efficiencies.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of maintenance or engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum college diploma, university degree in Engineering is preferred.
- Experience with implementing and in-depth knowledge of maintenance and reliability concepts
- Knowledge of GMP, Food Safety and Health & Safety requirements
- Experience with using CMMS (preferably Megamation)
- Advanced computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office Applications)
