Transportation Coordinator II - Brampton

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Transportation, the Transportation Coordinator is responsible for planning and coordinating all aspects of transportation including domestic, International and US freight.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Plan and coordinate all aspects of transportation, including domestic, International and US freight, using the Sofina TMS. This includes but is not limited to tendering loads and monitoring shipments applicable to business function that the role is supporting.
  • Assist with Transportation Project work. Downloads data from TMS, analyzing data & recommending opportunities for cost savings and improved efficiencies.
  • Audit / Approve carrier invoices.
  • Assist AP to reconcile carrier accounts.
  • Liaison with internal and external stakeholders, including Internal recall team, customer service, quality assurance, production scheduling and External carriers.
  • Ensure that all relevant data is properly collected and maintained in TMS in conjunction with their manager.
  • Additional support as required to cover off any manpower/vacation gaps.
  • Provide feedback to management on areas of opportunities to lower transportation costs through payload improvement, load consolidation and asset utilization.
  • Investigate and address all OS&D reports from transportation providers.

 

Requirements:

  • University degree or college diploma is preferred. Education requirements may be substituted by extensive relevant experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with logistics, dispatching, warehousing and cold storage in the manufacturing industry required.
  • Good knowledge of transportation is an asset.
  • Load planning experience is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, especially Excel, Access and Outlook
