Term: Full-time – Temporary (Hybrid)

Pay: $19 / hour

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the International Relations Intern, you will be responsible for supporting SOCAN’s efforts to ensure our members are paid when their music is used around the world. Primarily, you will review and submit the set list details provided by SOCAN’s members for foreign concerts to our society partners. You will also provide support for other key live performance initiatives at SOCAN, including Major Live Performance tracking and identifying upcoming concert tours for top members. In addition, you will assist with day-to-day operations of the International Relations team, including the triage of communications with our foreign society partners, and research and documentation of foreign society business practices, as time allows.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review and ensure the quality of concert performance details provided by SOCAN members prior to bulk submission to foreign performing rights organizations.
  • Research and compile concert foreign tour dates for high-profile members in service Tracked Tours strategy.
  • Aid in research and documentation on the business operations of SOCAN's foreign society partners to improve our knowledge base for our staff and members.
  • Assist International Relations team with the triage of communications with SOCAN’s foreign society partners.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING / QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Enrolled / Recently graduated in a Music Business Program or related programs
  • Experience with MS Suite, specifically with Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and comfortable working with data.
  • Superior organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective research skills and ability to identify useful information.
