Junior Grower 

Co-op, Full Time 

About the Job:

Based out of our farm located in Georgetown, Ontario, you will be given the opportunity to spend time job shadowing and working in every growing key area in Sheridan production. This includes propagation, Boxwoods, Evergreens, Deciduous, Tropicals, Trees, Field Production, Potting, Irrigation and IPM.

Your Accountabilities:

• Learn, understand, and work as part of the crew through the requirements for each stage of producing top quality container grown plants.
• Depending on the season – spring opening, pruning, fertilizer, weeding, moving, IPM scouting, winterizing
• Assembling plants from the field
• Data collection (plant heights, vigor, and other metrics)
• Labeling, preparing orders
• Promote a safe and healthy working environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Experience in an outdoor work environment would be an asset
• Effective communication and organization skills.
• Ability to problem solve and make decisions with an attention to detail.
• Resourceful and works well independently.
• You are punctual and dependable, and highly value honesty, integrity, and authenticity.

• This job requires extended periods of walking and standing, as well as the ability to lift 50lbs and work in various weather conditions and environments.
