Sales Representative

Central Ontario

Permanent, Full Time

 

 

About the Job:

 

Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Sales Representative – Central Ontario is responsible for meeting and exceeding all annual sales goals for their assigned territory, while demonstrating an innate ability for building and maintaining positive relationships with customers, as well as proactively identifying new opportunities for sales. This position is based out of Georgetown, Ontario but will require regular travel within the assigned territory.

Your Accountabilities:

 

  • Meet and exceed annual sales revenue goals for new and existing accounts in Central Ontario
  • Manage accounts by:
    • Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients
    • Proactively identifying opportunities for sales, increased penetration and distribution
    • Being the product and service expert
    • Introducing additional solutions and services
  • Identify new account opportunities within assigned territory
  • Prepare, in conjunction with the Director of Sales, annual territory account plans and forecasts
  • Ensure consistent and accurate data integration for all accounts within assigned territory
  • Work cross-functionally with all Guest Service and Farm Operations teams to ensure excellent client service, quality and communication levels are maintained 
  • Attend tradeshows, client events, and other media related events as required
  • Keep clients updated on the status of orders
  • Collaborate with Purchasing to ensure optimization of sourced products and/or services
  • Network with internal teams on Wholesale Sales marketing projects as required
  • Represent the best interests of Sheridan Nurseries in all aspects
  • Assist with other duties, territories, and directives as assigned

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Minimum of 5 years’ sales and account management experience
  • Animble and quick learner. Preference will be given to candidates with prior Horticultural experience, however it is not a pre-requisite. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate and maintain relationships
  • Ability to present solutions that address the client’s needs
  • Highly competitive and self-motivated with a hunter mentality and an enthusiasm for sales 
  • Detail-oriented and can work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Adaptable and capable of balancing multiple priorities with effective time management skills
  • Dependable and highly value honesty, integrity, and authenticity
  • Strong computer skills including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
  • This position is required to work occasional evenings & weekends, & some overnight travel may be required
