Are you passionate about discovering and sharing science experiences? Do earth sciences and ‘going underground’ excite you? If so, we would like to hear from you! Science North, Northern Ontario’s most popular tourist attraction, is looking for you to join its Dynamic Earth team!
Dynamic Earth offers a world of earth science exploration where staff (known as bluecoats) act as tour guides for the underground experience, exhibit hosts in the galleries and outdoor interpreters for the science park. Dynamic Earth staff also entertain through the delivery of live science shows and workshops related to minerals, rocks, earth science and mining. They will work with topic experts to become highly knowledgeable and learn fun and exciting ways to share this knowledge with a range of audiences.
Interested candidates must enjoy working with the public, an interest in geology and/or earth science, the ability to work independently in a changing environment, and demonstrated experience working in team.
Successful candidates will have excellent verbal communication skills, strong presentation and program delivery skills, demonstrated leadership ability and strong organizational skills. Enjoy a variable hours schedule which may involve evenings, weekends and work on public holidays. Science North provides services in both official languages. This position requires fluency in both English and French (non-negotiable).
Immediate start dates for individuals with daytime and weekend availability.
