RVA is looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Water team in a full-time permanent position.


Duties:

  • Providing project engineering and technical expertise, review of hydraulic calculations, analysis, and design services for various water/wastewater treatment facilities
  • Managing of water/wastewater projects including scope, schedule, and budget as well as managing client relationships
  • Providing senior review and professional authentication of memos, reports, drawings, and other engineering documents
  • Preparation of conceptual, preliminary and final process designs of:
    • Wastewater Treatment Plants
    • Pumping Stations
    • Equalization tanks
    • Outfalls
  • Leading studies and Class EAs for water and wastewater projects
  • Preparing proposals and reports
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, regulatory agencies and utility companies and contractors
  • Leading and participating in Business Development initiatives
  • Planning projects, developing accurate scopes of work, project plans, schedules, and deliverables to execute high quality projects on time and on budget
  • Mentoring and coaching project teams including technical and field staff
  • Supervision of junior engineers, technologists, and designers.
  • Other duties as assigned and appropriate for this position.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor ‘s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Must be licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) within the province of Ontario.
  • 15 plus years progressive experience in water and wastewater engineering with at least 10 years working in a consultancy.
  • Demonstrated abilities in multidisciplinary project teamwork and coordination.
  • Proficient in the full range of design activities including preparation of studies, functional and detailed design drawings and reports, contract document preparation, tendering, construction administration and commissioning.
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant Canadian federal and provincial regulations.
  • Experienced in meeting timelines and budgets, proposal writing, business/client development and other skills appropriate to consulting.
  • Proven, advanced level Excel skills and a proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • In-depth understanding of business issues associated with consulting engineering and planning.
  • Client focused, always striving to give clients the best solutions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients and different stakeholders.
