Are you a passionate engineer with expertise in water and wastewater systems? RVA is on the lookout for a talented Intermediate Water/Wastewater Engineer to bring their skills and creativity to our dynamic team. Duties:

  • Apply your expertise in leading and supporting studies, preliminary design, detailed design, and services during construction for municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Oversee the preparation of engineering reports, calculations, specifications, process narrative, drawings, permit / approvals applications, and operations manuals, including application of P.Eng. seal, for the process mechanical discipline for:
    • Water and wastewater treatment plants including intakes and outfalls
    • Water pumping stations, sewage pumping stations, reservoirs, elevated tanks, CSO tanks
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver top-notch project designs.
  • Take charge of contract administration and provide operator training to ensure seamless operations.
  • Conduct site inspections and write detailed technical reports as needed.
  • Contribute to business development and help prepare winning proposals.
  • Contribute to risk analysis, quality assurance, and management strategies to safeguard project success.
  • Be ready to take on new challenges and grow within the role as other duties arise.

Qualifications:

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from a recognized university.
  • You’re a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience designing water and wastewater systems.
  • You’ve got a strong background in hydraulic calculations, including hydraulic profiles, pumping applications, and chemical feed systems.
  • You understand control and automation systems for water and wastewater processes.
  • You’re a have project management experience with a track record of managing budgets, schedules, and project scopes effectively.
  • You’re comfortable managing procurement processes and administering contracts with ease.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Project.
  • You excel at building relationships and thrive in collaborative, team-oriented environments.
  • You’re an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, and can simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
