We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Manager in our Toronto/Halton or Waterloo office to lead water and wastewater projects for municipal and industrial clients from initiation to completion. In this role, you will manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and client relationships, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, innovative solutions in water and wastewater engineering.
Duties:
- Lead water and/or wastewater infrastructure projects through all phases, from planning and design to execution and delivery, ensuring adherence to scope, timelines, and budget.
- Provide technical engineering and expertise in water and/or wastewater engineering, including analysis, and design for the preparation of engineering reports, calculations, specifications, process narrative, drawings, permit / approvals applications, and operations manuals, including application of P.Eng. seal for multi-disciplinary projects.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, cost estimates, schedules, and deliverables to drive successful outcomes.
- Collaborate on feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed design, cost estimating, specifications, and contract administration.
- Prepare and review technical reports, memos, engineering drawings, and documentation for professional approval and quality assurance purposes.
- Prepare and submit proposals, manage tendering processes, and support contract management.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, regulatory agencies, utility companies, and contractors, ensuring strong relationships and effective communication.
- Ensure all projects comply with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Contribute to business development activities, identifying new opportunities, supporting client engagement, and preparing proposals.
- Perform additional duties as required to support project success and team objectives.
Qualifications:
- You hold a bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from a recognized university.
- You’re a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario, with at least 7 years of hands-on experience designing water and wastewater systems with at least 3-4 years in a Project Management role within a consulting environment.
- PMP Certification is a plus.
- Strong technical foundation in hydraulics, water and wastewater regulations, treatment and pumping.
- You’re an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, and can simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- You excel at building relationships and thrive in collaborative, team-oriented environments.
- You are highly organized with a strong attention to detail, and take a flexible and proactive approach to problem-solving.
