The Toronto office is looking for an Engineering Designer to join their Mechanical team in a full-time permanent basis. The Emissions Control Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and to develop innovative solutions for emissions and odour reduction. The successful candidate will also be responsible for staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in odour and  emissions control technologies and applying this knowledge to improve existing systems.

 

Duties:

  • Assist with air emission calculations, including mass balance, and dispersion.
  • Design of odour control systems including mechanical, electrical and instrumentation and control aspects.
  • Preparation of portions of technical reports and approval proposals.
  • Conduct site visits and field activities for projects within and outside Ontario.
  • Condition assessment of existing equipment.
  • Demolition and sequence of construction planning.
  • Review, understand and interpret provincial and federal acts and regulations
  • Participation in contract administration services and inspections of odour control systems.
  • Other duties as required.

 

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental, Civil or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Minimum of 1-4 years of experience in emissions control or a related field with a strong interest in air emissions and odour control focused on wastewater infrastructure.
  • Experience in AERMOD, ISC-Prime or any other air emission software
  • Familiarity with various applicable MECP, EPA and Ontario regulations and standards.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and standards.
  • Experience with emissions testing and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in emissions control technologies and systems.
  • Possess a strong ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and staff.
  • Experience or aptitude for meeting timelines and budgets, proposal writing, client development and other skills appropriate to consulting.
  • Proven capabilities in writing reports and other technical documents.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.
  • Knowledge of acoustics is an asset.
