Physical Requirements:
A packer is frequently required to alternate between sitting, standing, and remaining on their feet for extended periods. They must also be able to consistently lift and move items weighing up to 30 plus pounds. Fine finger motion is also required for this position.
Primary Purpose:
The packer plays a key role in upholding Roots' reputation for exceptional craftsmanship by ensuring that all finished goods meet rigorous quality standards before being packed for shipment or storage. With a keen eye for detail, this position ensures that every product leaving the facility is flawless and thoughtfully packed, reflecting the brand's commitment to excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure all silver pen marks, glue residue or glue tape is removed before the item is packed.
- Inspect finished goods for defects, inconsistencies, or damage before packing.
- Ensure all items meet quality standards and company guidelines.
- Safely and efficiently pack goods into designated packaging materials, ensuring secure transportation.
- Label packages accurately and appropriately for shipping or storage.
- Verify the correct number and type of products are packed according to order specifications.
- Document and report discrepancies in quantities or product types to the team lead.
- Support other team members in achieving daily productivity and quality goals.
- Previous experience in quality control and/or packing within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify product defects or inconsistencies.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Reliable with a good attendance record and a focus on punctuality.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
