Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively alongside our Sourcing, Research and Development, Design and Merchandising teams.
  • Create digital colour cards for each delivery based on the colour palette chosen by our design team.
  • Create all colour codes and QTX files within our product management system.
  • Provide QTX, TCX codes and physical swatches to our makers.
  • Review and approve/reject lab dip submissions ensuring consistency of colour for all fabrics and trims through to bulk submission.
  • Communicate all comments for lap dips, and bulk submits, directly with suppliers.
  • Ensure consistency of colour matching across all departments.
  • Review colour submissions using the X-Rite Spectrophotometer system.
  • Ability to read and interpret Spectrophotometer reports.
  • Work with the product management team to solve any colour tolerance issues in bulk and lab dip submits.
  • Organize and file all lab dips for all divisions.
  • Track lab dip submissions and comments using our product development calendar milestones.
  • Manage and order board development materials and Pantone chips as needed.
  • Assistance to the Sr Director of Design for colour research when needed.

Job Specifications:

  • Collegiate diploma in fashion design, textile engineering or similar.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Must be able to pass Munsell 100 colour test.
  • Must be proficient in using X-Rite Colour Spectrophotometer or similar system.
  • Clear communication skills to be able to communicate clearly and concisely with our makers.
  • Confidence to create recommendations and escalate issues where necessary in our team environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft office suite with basic knowledge of Illustrator.
  • Organized, detail-oriented and able to work independently.
  • Understanding of production calendars and ability to meet deadlines.
