Groomer - Grade 1 Operator
Reports To: Grooming/Snowmaking Supervisor
Position Overview
We’re looking for highly motivated team players to join our team as entry-level snowcat operators.
You’ll work as part of the overall Mountain Operations team and will be responsible for safe and efficient operation of a Prinoth snowcat to help maintain the slopes. Grooming Operator – Grade 1 candidates will receive internal training (both online and experiential) and will receive on-the-job training from mentors within the department.
You should expect to be working outside in any, all and sometimes adverse weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll help manage the quality of our groomed runs. Here’s an idea of your key responsibilities:
- Report for scheduled shifts
- Attend and complete all introductory training in a timely manner
- Safe & efficient machine operation
Ideally you will have…
- Previous supervisory and risk management experience in the ski industry
- Experience operating Prinoth snowcats (or other similar heavy machinery)
- Ability to ski/snowboard at an intermediate level or better
- Mechanical aptitude (a background in mechanical experience preferred)
- Excellent physical & mental health
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Valid class 5 driver’s license (or better)

This is a full-time, seasonal winter role with RMSI-JTAC (Ski Marmot Basin), 40 hours per week and must be available to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when required.
