Role Overview
The Manager, New Ventures & Special Projects is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing new business opportunities that expand our company’s offerings beyond dermatology. This role will play a key part in launching innovative ventures, such as our longevity and preventative health initiative, and integrating them into the larger organization.
Reporting to the executive team, this individual will conduct market research, perform due diligence, develop business plans, and lead implementation efforts. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong project management skills and a passion for healthcare innovation and business development.
Role Objectives
The Manager, New Ventures & Special Projects responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
New Venture Assessment & Due Diligence
- Conduct market research to evaluate demand, competition, and feasibility for new business opportunities.
- Develop financial models and business cases to assess potential return on investment (ROI) and risks.
- Perform due diligence on emerging healthcare trends, technologies, and partnerships.
- Provide strategic recommendations to executives on whether to proceed with new ventures.
Project Planning & Execution
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets for new ventures.
- Oversee the implementation and operational launch of new businesses, ensuring seamless integration into the company’s existing structure.
- Work cross-functionally with operations, marketing, finance, legal, and clinical teams to bring new initiatives to market.
- Establish KPIs and tracking systems to measure success and make necessary adjustments.
Strategic Growth & Business Development
- Identify and build relationships with potential partners, investors, and industry experts to accelerate growth.
- Explore opportunities for joint ventures, partnerships, and acquisitions in alignment with company strategy.
- Develop and present business proposals and reports to senior leadership.
- Stay informed on industry trends and identify innovative business models that align with the company’s vision.
Operational Integration & Scalability
- Ensure new ventures are structured for long-term success, including staffing, training, and operational processes.
- Create scalable frameworks for expanding successful pilot programs into multiple locations.
- Monitor business performance post-launch and make recommendations for optimization and expansion.
Role Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in business development, corporate strategy, or healthcare innovation.
- Strong background in market analysis, financial modeling, and project management.
- Experience in healthcare, wellness, or preventative medicine (preferred).
- Proven ability to lead complex projects from concept to execution.
- Strong entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Management, or a related field; MBA & PMP (preferred).
