Within our Finance department, the accountant reporting to the Controller, is focused on supporting the organization's financial health through diligent transaction processing and financial reporting. This position is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our daily and month-end financial activities. Ideal for professionals with a passion for finance and a commitment to precision, this role offers the opportunity to engage in comprehensive financial analysis and contribute significantly to the operational efficiency and compliance of our dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Inventory Management and Financial Analysis
- Conduct daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly reviews of inventory activities to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Analyze inventory transactions and reconcile differences to maintain the integrity of monthly financial reporting.
- Financial Reporting and Support:
- Assist in the analysis of job costs and the explanation of manufacturing variances.
- Generate reports detailing product margins by customer, segment, and business line.
- Reconciliation and Compliance:
- Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts as necessary.
- Manage vendor statement reconciliations and accounts payable, including the matching of supplier invoices and resolution of billing issues.
- Conduct credit card statement reconciliations and liaise with the sales development team on invoice issues and accounts receivable reconciliation.
- System Management and Regulatory Compliance:
- Support the PST processes to ensure compliance with provincial regulations.
- Execute goods receipts in ERP software SYSPRO for non-product items and contracted parts.
- Aid in the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Administrative Functions:
- Perform filing and various accounting tasks as required to support the Controller team's efficiency and organization.
Qualifications:
Experience Required:
- 3 - 5 years of accounting experience, with a preference for backgrounds in manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook is essential.
- Experience with SYSPRO accounting software is highly valued, alongside competency in other accounting systems.
Skills/Additional Requirements:
- CPA designation, or in the process of obtaining, is highly preferred.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
- Advanced communication skills in English.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a positive and proactive attitude.
Education:
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance is required.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000 CAD

The salary range posted above reflects the minimum and maximum for new hire salaries, taking into account factors such as job-related skills and expertise, relevant training and education, and business needs. It is common for ranges to span multiple levels in order to attract top talent across experience levels. It is uncommon to be hired at the top of the range; however, in exceptional cases where a candidate's skills and expertise significantly exceed the role's requirements, we may consider offering a higher salary.
