Reporting to the Team Lead of purchasing and procurement services, the Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for coordinating various aspects of procurement and vendor management under Redlen’s business. This includes collaborating with manufacturing and engineering team to make sure vendor selection process follow procedures, monitor product life cycle, and develop/optimize Redlen vendor selection. Perform parts planning and creation of purchase orders as necessary. Ensure parts management to support new product development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Parts planning

    • Create plan to make sure parts are available to match prototype build planning schedule
    • Work with engineering to make sure BOM parts are available from prototype through its planned manufacturing phase and identify alternates if necessary.
    • Ensure planned transition from prototype planning to production builds

Vendor Management/Development

    • Oversee documentation and implementation of vendor selection.
    • Analyze and Optimize vendor utilization (smart purchasing).
    • Liaising with team in to make sure Vendors are in line with Redlen procurement outlook.
    • Identify secondary vendors.
    • Monitor vendor performance and send feedback issues to internal team.
    • Identify vendor risk and develop mitigation plan.

Purchase Order Processing

    • Generate Purchase Order (PO) as required.
    • Process and manage PO’s with the procurement team.

Experience Desired:

    • 2 - 5 years experience in procurement or purchasing in a manufacturing or engineering setting.
    • Proven experience in planning and scheduling.
    • Experience in supplier development and quality management.
    • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, or a related field with procurement certification (e.g. CSCP) is a plus.
    • Strong negotiation skills and experience in managing supplier relationships.
    • Superior communication and interpersonal skills with a track record of improvement procurement process.
    • Experience with procurement software and systems.

         Salary Range: $55,000 - $75,000 CAD

The salary range posted above reflects the minimum and maximum for new hire salaries, taking into account factors such as job-related skills and expertise, relevant training and education, and business needs. It is common for ranges to span multiple levels in order to attract top talent across experience levels. It is uncommon to be hired at the top of the range; however, in exceptional cases where a candidate's skills and expertise significantly exceed the role's requirements, we may consider offering a higher salary.
