RAM is a project delivery firm specializing in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering and Advisory services across Canada. RAM is searching for a motivated and experienced individual in Calgary, AB. The successful candidate will be an individual that enjoys a challenging, professional, and dynamic workplace and contributing to the success of a hardworking team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide value engineering assistance and constructability input.
- Ensure construction contracts are completed within the approved project budget and schedule.
- Develop effective "Work Arounds" to mitigate cost overruns and schedule delays.
- Allocate and confirm site protocols, access, storage, laydown, and parking requirements to each contractor.
- Implement and manage weekly on-site construction progress meetings.
- Implement and manage monthly on-site construction status meetings.
- Delegate designated scope(s) of work to assigned Field Engineers/Inspectors and coordinate effectively.
- Support the timely response to contractor queries and Request for Information (RFI).
- Provide leadership in health, safety, and environmental matters.
- Work with the Project HS&E Manager to implement the Project Specific Health and Safety Plan.
- Participate in Health and Safety Committee meetings, contractor toolbox meetings, and Job Hazard Analysis workshops.
- Manage construction contract changes and seek input/support from Contracts Manager.
- Keep Engineering Manager, Procurement and Contracts Administrator informed of engineering documentation status and required dates.
- Work with the Project Quality Management Director to ensure strict compliance with quality requirements.
- Ensure all works and services comply with the Project Quality Management Plan.
- Upon achieving Total Completion, oversee the handover of all Project closeout documentation and records.
- Provide timely notice for on-site technical and commissioning support from designated vendors.
- Upon achieving Substantial Completion, turn completed facilities over to Operations for commissioning and start-up.
- Ensure completion of outstanding deficiency and punch list items.
- Oversee the handover of commissioning and start-up spares.
- Provide input into the Project Monthly Report.
Ideal Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years experience working in a Construction Management capacity on Canadian infrastructure projects.
- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with EGBC or APEGA considered an asset.
- Experience assembling, managing and delivering construction contracts. The MMCD Certified Contract Administrator (MMCD CCA) designation is considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of local construction standards, codes, permits and safety requirements.
- Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills with project stakeholders, the public, clients, regulatory agencies and consultants/contractors.
- Experience assembling, managing and delivering construction contracts.
- Proven experience writing proposals for EPCM and EPC type projects.
- Familiarity with HeavyBid, Primavera, and other estimating software.
