Contracts Specialist
Corporate Responsibilities
- Follow and contribute to the expansion of RAM’s corporate Contracts Management process, procedures, templates, and work instructions;
- Develop and administer corporate agreements for goods and services;
- Participate in RAM’s strategic initiatives and fiscal objectives, where applicable; and
- Promote and foster RAM’s core values.
Project Responsibilities
The Contracts Specialist will support client and project teams providing the following services:
- Provide support in areas of subject matter expertise to RAM and their clients;
- Work with internal and external project teams to develop and implement project specific contracting strategies;
- Provide support to internal/external project teams in the area of procurement, contracts and/or claims management;
- Regularly attend, or participate in scheduled audits of contractor/suppliers as required;
- Support projects and operations with end to end contract management activities including:
- Submittal of Insurance and Bonding requirements;
- Submittal and Review of Progress Payment Estimates and Invoices
- Submittal and Review of Technical documents
- Adherence to reporting requirements
- Adherence to Safety and Quality Management requirements
- Project turnover documents
- Assemble procurement packages for supply, consulting and construction contracts, coordinating with project team members and stakeholders as necessary to and solicit competitive proposals in accordance with project requirements;
- Perform commercial evaluations of proposals and coordinate the evaluations by other stakeholders as necessary. Prepare bid tab evaluations including commercial and technical assessments and requirements;
- Coordinate resolution and negotiation of any/all commercial and technical matters before making recommendations to award or requests for authorization to award;
- Ensure all procurement documentation and contracts are drafted and finalized for award and execution;
- Communication and Administration of Change Management
- Monitoring every contract in concert with the Project Team to ensure that all terms and conditions are being satisfactorily achieved in accordance with the schedule and milestones. This includes but is not limited to:
- Chairing meetings to review status, progress and facilitate issues resolution
- Lead contract close out
Ideal Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience managing complex contracts, with 8+ years industry experience;
- Construction related experience required, preferably in the BC public sector;
- Ability and willingness to work out of the downtown Vancouver office (can be hybrid);
- Ability and willingness to work with a team that is spread across multiple locations;
- Candidates should be self managed and have a collaborative approach, show how they work with internal/external teams to achieve deliverables; and
- Will be working in a growing environment, will need to think outside of the box, be innovative and a problem solver, with a positive demeanor.
Preferred Candidate Experience/Skills
- Experience in a Construction/Contractor Management role in British Columbia is an asset;
- SCMP related training and certifications are an asset but not required; and
- Ability and willingness to work on-site when and if required.
