We’re on the lookout for an energetic, motivated, and experienced professional to join our team as a Logistics Specialist, focusing on liquid bulk and resources. As our US team continues to grow, we’re eager to welcome experienced supply chain professionals to contribute to our dynamic, forward-thinking team.
In this role, you’ll take charge of managing all inbound and outbound shipments, overseeing the entire transportation cycle to ensure cost-efficiency and timely deliveries of liquid bulk chemical products. You’ll collaborate closely with both internal and external customers to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction while working within a business line-focused team environment.
As a Logistics Specialist, you’ll play a key role in maintaining seamless and efficient logistics operations, proactively identifying and solving challenges before they arise. Your expertise will guide team members and stakeholders, and your strong understanding of logistics networks, freight markets, customs regulations, and transportation compliance will be essential to your success!

What would be your main responsibilities as Logistics Specialist?
Coordination and Planning:
- Responsible for the coordination and planning of liquid bulk shipment within the TMS environment, including evaluating on-hand inventories, and collaborating on and/or generating necessary work orders.
- Proactively identify and address potential issues in logistics operations, taking swift and independent action to resolve challenges while providing guidance to team members.
- Assisting in ensuring inventory accuracy within the WMS by working with warehouses and tank farms to ensure inventory transactions are properly recorded and reconciled.
- Leverage advanced knowledge of the freight market and diverse transportation modes to optimize routes within an ERP framework, negotiate competitive rates, and foster strong relationships with carriers and service providers.
- Investigate any discrepancies, approve/audit freight invoices.
- Assist in the managing of third-party warehouses/terminals by coordinating receiving schedules, outbound orders
Communication and Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the go-to expert for logistics policies and procedures, particularly in the bulk and resources areas, offering valuable insights and guidance to teammates, account managers, and product managers to support informed business decisions.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to colleagues within the logistics team, as well as other departments, fostering knowledge sharing and skill development across the organization.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and brainstorming sessions, driving KPI teams toward achieving measurable results that enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of logistics operations.
- Participate in joint sales calls with sales staff to facilitate service-related problems and stay connected to customers’ needs.
Negotiation and Compliance:
- Cultivate supplier relationships and logistics activities for bulk transportation supporting the QCI Resource group.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of the freight market and various transportation modes to optimize logistics routes, negotiate favorable rates, and maintain strong relationships with carriers and providers.
- May conduct site inspections for new bulk customers, and re-audit where necessary.
- Ensure the safe handling of chemical products, adhering to the Responsible Distribution Code of practice and all local, state federal regulations
- Ensure all health, safety and environmental incidents are reported. Work with both external and internal parties to complete an analysis as to the root cause and the actions taken to ensure there are no repeats.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of customs regulations and documentation requirements, ensuring proper documentation and compliance for both import and export activities.
- Continuous Improvement and Knowledge Management:
- Actively participate in continuous improvement programs and brainstorming efforts, leading KPI teams to achieve positive outcomes that contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of logistics operations.
- Mentor and guide team members on core values, professional behavior, communication, and other key aspects of career development.
- Lead cross-functional projects to identify opportunities for improvement within the logistics department, driving innovation and excellence in operations.
- Maintain up-to-date expertise in the transportation of dangerous goods, including U.S. DOT hazmat training and IMDG training.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a fast-paced transportation-logistics environment preferably dealing with carriers, suppliers, tank farms, internal and external customers.
- Experience in oil, gas or chemical industry preferred.
- Deep expertise in logistics policies, procedures, and systems.
- Advanced knowledge of the freight market and various transportation modes.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience in mentoring and developing team members.
- Comprehensive understanding of customs regulations and documentation requirements.
- Demonstrated success in driving continuous improvement and achieving positive outcomes.
- Ability to problem solve, multi-task and set priorities while working independently in a high-performance team culture
- Proven communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Experience in an advanced computer systems environment (E1/Oracle/SAP), transportation management system (OTM), Outlook, Salesforce, Power BI, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
- Emergency response training /incident command experience preferred
- Must be available for on-call (rotative) schedule
- Willingness to travel to perform site audits (+/- 15% of working time)

Compensation:
The expected base salary range for this position is $79,500.00 to $124,300.00 USD per year, depending on your experience, skills, and qualifications. Our salary ranges are carefully benchmarked by role and level, ensuring competitive pay that rewards your expertise.
