Location: Oakville, Ontario

Status: Permanent, full-time: Monday to Friday 6h30am to 3h00pm

We are currently looking for a motivated, autonomous and a team-oriented individual to join our operations team in Oakville, Ontario as a Warehouse Operator! Responsibilities include:

  • Receiving, storage, shipping of all stock items as per defined policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Pick and prepare customer orders on a daily basis.
  • Assists with safety programs in warehouse (TDG, WHMIS, ISO, Responsible Distribution, etc.)
  • Assist with general up-keeping of building and warehouse equipment including lift-trucks, scales, etc.
  • Special instruction implementation including bulk handling, drumming, repackaging, etc.
  • Participation in related training as required
  • Operate Double Reach Trucks and Counterbalance forklift trucks with proper certification
  • Sending paperwork (i.e. warehouse release. bill of lading, certificates of analysis and cover sheet)
  • Review daily shipment edit list to ensure orders are being handled to meet customer needs and expectations
  • Assist in physical counts of inventory
  • Printing warehouse release requests, bill of ladings, certificates of analysis
  • Ensuring accurate inventory (quantity/lots/locations)
  • Regular communication with Logistics, Customer Service and Procurement functions to ensure we are meeting customer and operational requirements
  • Our operations team currently operates on a two-shift rotational basis, with future growth this has the potential to be a three-shift operation.  

 

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in order picking or working in a distribution warehouse is essential.
  • Previous experience in a food distribution facility is an asset.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience operating Crown double or single Reach Trucks.
  • Experience with Counterbalance battery-powered forklifts is a plus.
  • Must be in good physical condition and able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Strong team player, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • WHMIS/TDG certification is considered an asset.
  • Experience with JD Edwards is a strong asset.
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management System (WMS) software is preferred; candidates should have above-average computer skills.
