QuestX, a new venture studio inside of Questrade Financial Group (QFG) is hiring a founding designer to help us shape new products and businesses from 0 to 1. We’re on a mission to help millions of Canadians achieve their financial goals by helping them take control of their financial destiny. We’re a small team of product managers, engineers, strategists and data analysts that operate within the broader Questrade business. 

What’s it like working as a Senior Product Designer at Questrade? 

The Senior Product Designer you’ll be responsible for developing strategy, design, testing and continued optimization of Questrade.com’s Investing business, with the objective of designing the best user experience while driving business growth through customer acquisition.

You’ll have an understanding of complex business, technical and customer problems and translate them into simple and elegant digital solutions – blending quantitative and qualitative research insights, data and solid intuition. 

You’ll work closely with other Designers, as well as Researchers, Writers, Engineers and Product Owners throughout the design process -  anticipate user’s needs and goals, advocate for them and, using analytical insights, KPIs and market trends ensure that the final product is easy and delightful to use.

In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

• Define the design direction and vision for new and innovative financial products – while some products will exist within the current Questrade product, others will be brand new so you’ll have a blank slate to establish new design directions

• Own the design process for both web and mobile applications from wireframing new concepts to prototyping and user testing

• Collaborate with researchers and data scientists to make informed design decisions at each stage of the process

• Write and test engaging copy that drives customer action

• Mentor junior designers and set standards for what excellent design looks like within this team

• Work together with engineering, research, marketing, product and other stakeholders to solve design and product challenges

• 5+ years of experience UX/UI, product design

• Proficiency with Figma and experience conducting meaningful user research to continuously iterate product design

• Creative portfolio showcasing passion for your craft and a strong sense of taste

• Proven experience launching innovative and impactful products (bonus points if you’ve launched financial products before)

• Strong collaboration and storytelling skills

• Written skills for shaping content design in both web and mobile applications
