We’re looking for our next Scrum Master. Could It Be You?
The Scrum Master will support the teams on delivering better products to help Canadians become more financially successful and secure, by offering teams guidance on the process and continuous self-improvement.
The biggest opportunity will be enabling the team's effectiveness using an Agile mindset. You will also help raise visibility and continuous improvement to the teams' health metrics, as well as collaborate with the growth of the Agile culture within the company. You will be building relationships with project managers, stakeholders, removing impediments, and managing cross dependencies. Our teams are our core assets here and we need someone who can help let them be their best! You will manage the upstream planning for the teams to ensure readiness for Program Increment Planning. You will lead the team members while actively contributing to the delivery approach and processes. You’re comfortable with ambiguity and you understand how to collaborate to not only get the best out of a team but support them through the transformation.
As a Scrum Master, you will join our core team and assist in the delivery of products. You will be responsible for leading one agile team across Agile frameworks and methodologies.
What’s it like working as a Scrum Master at Questrade?
- Identify impediments and enable your team to effectively remove impediments and facilitate discussion, decision making and conflict resolution.
- Facilitate Scrum Events for the teams and participate in SAFe ceremonies.
- Enable transparency into the team(s) ways of working by enabling the team level metrics around key performance indicators and use the facts from these metrics to drive team(s) improvements.
- Demonstrate domain expertise and leadership; coach and guide others on emerging trends/developments and share knowledge of the business and Agile-related tools/techniques through workshops/training.
- Work with the Product Owner to achieve effective Product Backlog management, facilitate Story Mapping, assist/create Stories and Acceptance Criteria maximize value delivery.
- Enable Scrum Team(s) to define clear sprint goals and S.M.A.R.T. PI objectives.
- Enable the team to focus on sprint Goals in the context of Program Increment objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement and act as a change agent to adapt processes to maximize productivity throughout the product life cycle.
- Effectively collaborate and negotiate with other teams and Scrum Masters/Project Managers to manage cross dependencies.
- Implement action plans to improve upstream planning, collaboration, and communication with stakeholders outside the Team.
- Support the ongoing development of a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation, and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/points of interest.
So are YOU our next Scrum Master? You are if you have…
- 5+ years of experience in Agile frameworks/methodologies and practices such as Scrum, Kanban and Scaled Agile Framework
- Agile expertise in the Digital/Technology industry running multiple teams, large-scale and fast-paced initiatives, and a high volume of projects
- A delivery driven attitude with demonstrated experience in listening and supporting teams in problem identification and decision-making
- Demonstrated experience in creating an environment of mutual influence
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Familiarity with these or similar tools: G-Suite, JIRA and scaling tools
- A-CSM/CSP-SM or SAFe ASM or PSM II.
